I agree with the power of technology opening up our global world for children. The challenge is not all children have access to a computer.

I teack K so students really aren't able to use the computers as easily however, I am finding that making movies and voiceover for activities is really benefiting my curriculum!

I am working with students after school to help them create an iMovie for REACH.

I think technology is really crucial to our students' learning, but it is very difficult to incorporate into an already full schedule.

I am technologically challenged, but I am learning new and exciting things everyday that will be useful in the classroom.

Nancy and Marilyn have gotten in! Using technology is certainly the way our children are living. Some of us however need to be pulled kicking and screaming into this new world.

I currently use my computer to show my students a visual representation of something that comes up in therapy that they don't understand. I would love to use my computer for individual therapy but in order to do that I need more computers and the appropriate software. This is necessary because each of my students therapy programs are individualized.

I like to use the computer to capture the attention of some of my more challenged students. We find movie clips, games, and photos to add to any presentation.

I have used web sites to share information on content that we are learning. Short video clips reinforce concepts using a visual approach.

I use my laptop to show streaming videos or websites related to topics we are studying. They really love the Brainpop site, but unfortunately I can't afford a subscription and we are limited to the free movies.

We have visited author sites to help us think like an author when reading stories and publishing our own books.

We network with other student authors. Sharing the journey outside our school walls gives us a new perspective and accelerates the learning of everyone.

I agree that technology is the future in education.
It becomes a challenge as more and more is required of both students and teachers.

I use technology as a resource in my classroom. As an elementary math specialist there are many websites to use for math vocabulary and examples. I also like to use math websites and games to reinforce our skills.

In my structured Autism classroom, my students benefit from visual learning. Using technology, I am able to incorporate short videos and slide shows to enhance my students understanding. The students are also intrigued by the opportunities to create their own keynotes to showcase their newly acquired skills.

I'm excited to see the potential of reaching students who live in a very visual, TV and computer-driven world!

In my 2nd grade classroom, technology is an essential component of the curriculum. We use it to research projects, track reading goals and use pictures as writing prompts-to name a few! Students benefit by becoming more independent and creative learners.

I teach K-5 students with Autism and I'm planning on using photo booth to demonstrate different emotions. They love seeing themselves on the screen.

I am a preschool teacher in the district so we are not using computers in the classroom as much as other grades. I do use computers to make movies to show social stories in the classroom. The students are able to watch them whenever it is needed.

Technology is the future for our students. They need
to learn all that is possible. For example how to correctly use and navigate their way around different aspects of the computer that is not just the learning games. It has been very helpful with the access to ITunes in allowing the students to go on adventures to different places without having to leave the room or their seats.

We have been using Keynote and Photobooth to share with other classrooms. The classroom students who watched my presentation shared the information from it if they saw me on campus. That is a nice assessment!

Working with the Structured class we are working on developing more computer skills.

I like to film students demonstrating musical performances for other students - especially using Orff instruments so other students can hear what a finished performance should sound like when all parts are played correctly. Students like to see what other students can do and are doing.

It is extremely hard to fit time on the computers into our busy schedule, but I do agree it is highly beneficial for them to use. I have noticed that I can use many DVD's or word websites with my struggling readers in order to help them recognize letters and sounds and work with words on something besides paper.
